Madison – Kenneth W. Siekert, age 80, passed away on Sunday December 22, 2024, at the UW Hospital in Madison. He was born February 17, 1944, in Chicago, IL to the late William and Bernice Siekert of Fall River, WI. He served his country in the US Army from 1965-1967 stationed at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma, WA. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1970 with a BS in Economics. Kenneth married Vicki R. Schmitt on November 5, 1977, in Madison, WI.
Kenneth worked for Madison Silos for 10 years as a crew leader, truck driver and dispatcher and for Harlan Industries for 30 years as trucking division manager.
Kenneth enjoyed running and traveling. He was a lifelong fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. He was a devoted father, coaching some of the kids’ sports teams and following their education and careers. He was particularly proud of his daughter’s career in logistics and his son’s status as an attorney. In retirement, he loved to spend the winter months in some warm location, picking a new spot every year.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Vicki; son Benjamin (Amber), daughter Emily; grandsons Noah and Charlie Siekert; and granddog Max.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret (Glenford) Demro of Beaver Dam and his beloved dog Corky.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 4, 2024 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave. Madison, WI. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society
