Kent Delfosse

Kent Frederick Delfosse, 57, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Born on January 20, 1965 at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls WI to Harold and Elaine (Worm) Delfosse.

Kent’s first home was in the Town of Lisbon, Waukesha County, WI. He attended Sussex, WI schools and graduated in 1983 from Hamilton High School (Sussex). He went on to attend the University of WI - Madison having earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Kent worked for a variety of companies until landing his final position with the WI Department of Transportation as an IS Supervisor.

Madison was Kent’s home and workplace since college as he fell in love with the people and the outdoor culture.

Kent’s intrigue with the outdoors led him to explore hiking trails and forests with family and friends.  He especially felt most at home being on the water, so much, that you could often find him canoeing, kayaking or sailing around Madison area lakes, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior or northern WI waterways. Kent loved cooking, gardening and being at Madison’s Saturday farmer’s market on the capitol square. Always with a smile and connecting with everyone he met with a kindred and kind gesture.

Kent was a devoted and a wonderful husband to the love of his life, Cisseba “Toh”. The love they shared for each other was evident to everyone. Kent’s devotion to his three boys and love for them was unending. Regularly coaching and spectating his boys’ sports and interests, he held a high regard for his care as a good father.

Kent had such a great impact on his community in so many thoughtful ways, including starting fun soccer games for the neighborhood kids. He touched so many and everyone who met him could feel his kind and jovial spirit. He was friends with everyone.

Kent leaves us with a full heart gracing us all with his kind soul. His family appreciates all the love and prayers that you all have sent. Thank you so much.

Kent is survived by his dear wife Cisseba Kaba Delfosse, known by family and friends as Toh; his three sons, Alex, Elliot, and Moussa; father and mother, Harold V. and Elaine Delfosse; his siblings, Hal (Lynne) Delfosse, Mark (Lori Ann) Delfosse, Lori (partner Kevin Clarke) Delfosse, Tina (Rob) Schoewe, Dane (Jen) Delfosse; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, Madison. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for the establishment of a future trust fund.
