Kevin Joseph Vukasovic

Marshall-Kevin Joseph Vukasovic, age 43, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at home. Kevin was born on October 13, 1967 in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Joseph and Cecilia (Wozniak) Vukasovic.He was a graduate of Yukon High School, Oklahoma State University with an associates degree in Police Science and a graduate of Central Oklahoma with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. On August 3, 1991 he was united in marriage with Melanie Lynn Nimlos in Yukon, OK. Together they were raising two children, Burke and Baylee. Kevin was a professional jazz trombonist, a member of the Sky Riders Drum & Bugle Corps in Hutchinson, KS, a member of Hooker Masonic Lodge in Hooker, OK and a volunteer with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps. He also enjoyed classic cars, trapshooting, reading, playing pool and video games. Kevin was employed in law enforcement for 17 years including the OK Department of Corrections, the Hooker Police Department in Hooker, OK and was a deputy with the Dane County Sheriff's Department. In 2007 he received the High Achievement Academic Award. Kevin is survived by his wife, Melanie of Marshall; children Burke and Baylee at home; sister Karen (Dennis) Kastl; mother-in -law Kathy Nimlos; sister-in-law Malonda Heinkle; brother-in-law Mike Nimlos; nieces and nephews Brian (Brandy) Kastl, Daniel Kastl, Rachel, Caleb and Chloe Nimlos. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Keith and his grandparents Joseph & Bessie Vukasovic and John & Sophie Wozniak. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Transformation Church, 2340 Manley Dr., Sun Prairie. Family and friends may call on Friday, April 22, 2011, 1pm-4pm at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie and again on Sat. at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to give memorials may be given to the family for the children's education fund.
