Madison/Waupaca - Kirk P. Holman, age 63, died peacefully under the care of loving family and new friends at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg on Thursday, February 5, 2015. He was born on Jan 15, 1952 in Waupaca and was raised together with his two sisters on the Waupaca family farm. During his school years he was active in both the FFA and 4-H programs until his graduation from Waupaca High School in 1970. In his early adult years he enjoyed many cross country motorcycle trips with his close friend and cousin. He continued to work on the family farm until moving to Madison to raise his family. Once in Madison he gained employment at Waste Management where he worked as a container delivery driver for nearly 30 years. He was a dependable, hard-working and well-liked employee. When he wasn't working he was spending precious time with family. Some of his most treasured memories were with his close friend Gary, hunting and spending time in the woods. Throughout the years he shared his love of nature and wildlife with both of his daughters and his grandsons, spending time camping, fishing, hunting and target shooting. His biggest joys in life were in the simple things. Watching his grandsons grow, attending every concert, wrestling match, and baseball game, and more recently being serenaded during living room karaoke dance parties followed by countless bedtime stories.
Left to carry on his memory are his mother, Ione Holman of Waupaca, his daughters Alicia (Ben) Wallin of Brodhead, Michelle Holman of Eau Claire and their mother RoseAnn Beckett, 3 adoring grandsons; Jameson, Hudson, and Grayson, two sisters Grace (Dick) Piechowski, and Ruth Holman. He is also survived by his niece Sandy (Alan) Cordes and nephew Jim Piechowski.
Kirk was preceded in death by his father, James P. Holman, and many aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
