Kraig C. Kowalke, age 70, of Madison, WI passed away February 10, 2025 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. He was born in Germany in 1954 and adopted and raised by his devoted parents, Garvin and Roberta Kowalke.

He received his associate’s degree from Madison Area Technical College and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the UW Madison. Kraig worked as a mainframe systems analyst for Wisconsin state government and in the insurance industry. He enjoyed nature, literature, movies, vintage television shows, and many cultural events in Madison and Dane County.

He is survived by his spouse Thomas Goodwyn, his sister Kimberly Williams, nieces Emily and Tess, brother-in-law Tim Williams, several American and German relatives, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and several cousins, uncles, and aunts, including his beloved Aunt Karin.

The family wishes to express gratitude for the care he received from UW Carbone Cancer Center and Agrace Hospice.

A celebration of Kraig’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Avenue, Madison, WI. There will be a gathering from 1 to 2 PM, at which time his memorial service will commence. Those who cannot attend in person are welcome to livestream the event.
