Kristi Hund

Stoughton- Kristi L. Hund, age 54, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011. She was born on December 12, 1956, the daughter of Duane and Suzanne (Frei) Brickson. Kristi graduated from Stoughton High School, Madison General Hospital Nursing Program and later received her Bachelors degree in Business and MBA from Upper Iowa University. On August 7, 1982 Kristi married Bruce Hund at First Lutheran Church in Stoughton. She started her working career at Stoughton Hospital as a candy striper at the age of 16. Kristi held several different positions at Stoughton Hospital throughout her 37 years of nursing, most recently as Vice President of Patient Services. She enjoyed volunteering in many capacities including Boy Scouts, Working for Kids, Band Boosters, Lionesses, Leadership Stoughton and Stoughton Chamber of Commerce. Kristi taught part time at Blackhawk Technical College and Upper Iowa University. She served on the Nursing Advisory Committee of Blackhawk Tech. Kristi enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her family, especially her children, and being the founder of the LOL Book Club. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; son, Matthew; two daughters, Katherine and Laurel; father, Duane; six siblings, Lori (Vik) Malling, Julie (Brian) Teigen, Lisa (Russ) Offord, Mitchell (Mary Helen), Scot (Amy) and Eric (Ann Marie) Brickson; 17 nieces and nephews; and many friends. Kristi was preceded in death by her mother, Suzanne. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington Street, Stoughton. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon following the burial at the Bryant Center in Stoughton Hospital. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton and from 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday at church. Memorials may be made to Stoughton Hospital Foundation.
