Becker, Kristin (Norland)
Stoughton- Kristin E. Becker, age 54, passed away at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg on Sunday, January 29, 2012. She was born in Stoughton on June 30, 1957, a daughter of James C. and Lois (Halverson) Norland. On July 10, 1986, she was united in marriage to Frank Becker in Germany. Kristin served her country in the Air Force during both Gulf Wars, retiring after 20 years of service. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Georgia, California and Wisconsin. In 1975, her senior year at Stoughton High School, she was the first recipient of the Obed I. Norem All-Around Female Athlete Award. She loved her family, playing, dancing, having fun, and traveling all over the world. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; 2 daughters, Maja and Kai Le; sisters, Margaret (Buddy Rabun) Paton, Patricia (Rod) Boelsing, and Mikin Fleming; a sister-in-law, Ellie Norland; uncles, Bud and Beaner Halverson; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father James, her mother Lois, and a brother, James W. Norland.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Hwy B, Stoughton, with the Rev. Paula Geister-Jones officiating. The family will greet friends at church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation at the UW. Special thanks to Dr. Longo and his team at UW.
