LaDeane Joyce Christian, at the age of 81 died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 3, 2010. She was born on September 29, 1928, at St. Mary's Ringling Hospital, Baraboo, WI, the daughter of the late David and Elva Loomis. She was a long-time resident of the Madison area, having been raised in Baraboo and later moving to Madison. LaDeane was well known for her great sense of humor and love of people, which was enjoyed through her various roles at the Simon House, the Wonder Bar, Ballweg's and Mama Deane's Restaurants. She also enjoyed caring for her flowers and loved decorating her yard.Â
LaDeane is survived by her children: Dennis (Mary Gruhn) Parsons of Hayward, CA, Scarlett (Robert) Parker of Pewaukee, Bonny (late Thomas)  Parsons Conway of Waukesha, Jane (James) Charmelo of Lombard, Ill., and Timothy Bruer of Madison; step-children: Rick Christian, Martin (Arlene) Christian, Jeff (Pam) Christian, Lisa Dorow, and Barbie Christian; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Voiles of Fort Walton Beach, FL.; nieces; and nephews. She is further survived  by long-time friend and confidant, Rose Berry, as well as, special friends, Beverly Curtis, Jenny Lang, and her 'adopted green-eyed' son, Roger Tesch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Christian; sons: David Parsons, and Daniel and LeRoy Bruer; and son-in-law, Thomas Conway.
Funeral services will be held at NOON on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 727 8th Street, Baraboo. Family will greet friends from 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Merrimac immediately following services with a luncheon to follow at church.Â
The family extends a special thank you to all the staff of Care Wisconsin for their compassion, care and assistance which enabled LaDeane to live out her life independently.
