Laura Acker

WAUNAKEE/ASHTON-Laura M. Acker, age 90, died on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Waunakee Manor Health Care Center in Waunakee. Laura was born on May 11, 1927, in Martinsville to George and Magdalena (Frederick) Kohlman. She married LaVerne "Bud" Acker on May 20, 1950, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2003. Laura was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Ashton since 1950. She enjoyed working with ceramics, cooking, gardening and was proud of the fact that she was able to help with the farm until she was 80 years old.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Dan) Roth and Vern (LaVonne) Acker; grandchildren, Kevin, Tracy and Chris (Celsey) Roth and GeriAnn (Rob)Lear and Jon Acker; great-grandchildren Ethan and Sydney and Miles; and sister, Delores Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; sister, Christine Acker; and brothers, Adam and Al.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St Peter Catholic Church, 7121 County Trunk K, Middleton/ Ashton. Rev Tait Schroeder will officiate. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Staff at the Waunakee Manor for the wonderful care the past four years and the many friends that visited Laura at the Manor.
