Laura L. Beckett, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born November 15, 1949 in Stoughton, daughter to Harold and Nancy (Baker) Giddley. Laura was united in marriage to Ross L. Beckett on May 28, 1968 in Madison. Together they raised three children.

Laura worked for American Family Insurance as an administrative assistant for 10 years. Outside of working, Laura cherished her family. She especially loved sharing good times with her family floating on the lakes in the pontoon boat. Laura always put her family's needs before herself. Laura was a wonderful mom and grandmother and she enjoyed making her special popcorn treat for family movie nights. She also liked bowling and working on crossword puzzles.

Laura is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ross; sons Thomas Leigh, Timothy Lane ( Jennifer) and daughter Lisa Ann Beckett; grandchildren Stephen, Donald, Megan, Mitchell, Skyler, Cody, Jeanette, Byron, Jacob and Blake and many other adopted grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Kelly "Sis" Brown, Julie "Pean" (Tim) Sparks and Todd "Brownie" Brown; Aunt Shirley and many cousins.

Laura's life will be celebrated at 2:00p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue, Madison with Sue Stanek officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to give special thanks to Lori Barr and "Pean" for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Laura.
