Laurel Catrona

August 5, 1922 — April 30, 2010

Laurel J. Catrona, age 87, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Skaalen Home in Stoughton.   She was born in Rice Lake on August 5, 1922.   Laurel worked for the Federal government as a secretary for the Department of Transportation, and for the State Crime Lab.   During WWII, she did volunteer social work at Truax field.   In 1983, she was united in marriage to James Catrona in Stoughton.   Together, they spent 15 years traveling and fishing all over the country in a truck camper.   She was an outdoor person who loved fishing and camping.   Laurel is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Robert (Bernadine) and Dale Sundbakken, and Nancy Hohneke; grandchildren, Dale Jr., Aaron, Sarah, Jessica and Kimberly; stepchildren, John (Bernie) Catrona, Kathy Wagstaff and Barry Bursch.   She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lois.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton, with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
