Laurie Taylor

1961 — 2025

Oconomowoc

Dr. Laurie Taylor (63), the beloved spouse of Dr. Julia Haseleu passed away on February 28, 2025 after a short, brutal, and courageous fight with cancer. She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio to Patricia (Pond) Taylor and Jack Taylor. Laurie was a devoted and loving partner, cherished friend, fishing champion, and a kind and gentle soul.

Laurie had a long successful career as a public servant (manager of community evaluation process at United Way of Dayton Ohio, professor at Northwestern University’s Kellog School of Management, grant administrator for School of Education at the University of Iowa, grant and research administrator at the Morgridge Institute at the University of Wisconsin, and strategic initiative coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Health). She recently retired to pursue her passions including fishing, raising wiener dogs, and volunteering for the Madison College Honors Program. Laurie is a descendant of the Puritans who arrived on the Winthrop Fleet in 1630 to create the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

She is survived by her spouse Dr. Julia Haseleu; sister Julie (Taylor) Panteziris; nephews Taki Panteziris, Jack Panteziris, and Stephen Aplanalp; sister in-laws Lisa Haseleu-Aplanalp and Tina Haseleu; and father-in-law Richard Haseleu.

Preceded in death by her parents, and mother-in-law Janice (Johnson) Haseleu Lopez.

The funeral will be held Friday March 7, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.  Visitation is at 10:00 a.m., lunch and sharing at 11:00 a.m., followed by the burial at Washington Cemetery in Portland, WI (near Waterloo).
