Lawrence C. Klukowski

Madison - Lawrence C. Klukowski, age 80, died August 3, 2009, with his loving wife, Karen, and family by his side.   He was born October 19, 1928, to Alphonsus and Anastasia Klukowski in Grand Rapids, Michigan.   He served in the U.S. Marines from 1946 to 1948.   He received a law degree from the University of Detroit in 1954.   On August 22, 1964, Larry married Karen A. Erickson.   Together they raised four sons in Grand Rapids, where he practiced law until retiring to Eagle Harbor, MI and Madison, WI.   Survivors include their four sons: Peter Klukowski of Madison, WI; Bernard Klukowski of Miami, FL; Matthew (Lori) Klukowski of Murfreesboro, TN; and Steven (Nancy) Klukowski of Lansing, MI; two darling granddaughters, Anastasia and Rebecca of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Joyce Poterack of Grand Rapids, MI, and Barbara Ludden of Jenison, MI; brothers, Norman Kay of Grand Rapids, MI, and Paul (Marce) of Grand Rapids, MI.   Larry also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Gerald Erickson, and his wife, Clareen of Madison, WI.   Larry was a generous and kind gentleman who enjoyed reading, travel, planting trees and morning walks with his playful Westie, Sophie.   In keeping with Larry's no-nonsense personality, no services were held.   Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.   The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Dr. Michael Thom of University of Wisconsin Hospital and the excellent staff of Oak Park Place.
