Layla Heckel

Layla Kate Heckel, age 20, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2011. Layla had a great sense of humor with a spirited wit. She always wanted to help people and she made friends easy. She had a special connection with her friends from the 12 step program who supported her through some hard times. Layla loved animals especially her cats. She loved taking skiing trips with her dad and camping trips with grandma and grandpa Heckel. She loved her family especially her little brother Ian. She was daddy's little girl. She is survived by her mother Cheryl Lynn Heckel, brother Ian, grandparents Pat and Robert Heckel, David Roal, Katy Anderson and step-grandfather Tom Anderson; aunts Natasha (Michael) Wiemiller and Kris (Loren) Lemke; uncles Erik Roal and Steve (Rosa) Heckel; many cousins and step aunts and uncles and many friends. Layla is preceded in death by her father Scott Patrick Heckel. Services will be held Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison. A visitation will be held from12:00 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
