Leo Becker

Madison, WI / East Durham, NY - Leo F. Becker, age 89, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg, WI. He was born on August 21, 1924 to John and Mabel (Fancher) Becker in Gilboa, NY.

Leo was born and raised on a farm in Gilboa. After working on the family farm, Leo also worked in construction and building. He was united in marriage to Joan Mowers on October 10, 1954 in New York. He enjoyed being a Scout Master for the boy scouts. Leo and Joan were members of Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA), the Empire Chapter in New York, through which they loved to travel.

Leo is survived by his wife, Joan; five children, Gary (Tanace) Becker, Gail (Juan Franco) Becker, Greg (Suvd Doyod "Sophia") Becker, Gren (Ae Ja Kang) Becker, and Garth Becker; his five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Gilboa Historical Society, P.O. Box 52, Gilboa, NY 12076.
