Leslie Hamilton

June 20, 1952 — May 31, 2017

Madison- Hamilton, Leslie Ann ("Bunge", "Looie") stepped out of this world and into the next adventure on May 31, 2017. Leslie was on June 20, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio to Patricia (Davey) and Raymond Hamilton. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. In 1976, while attending the University of Wisconsin Law School, Leslie was instrumental in founding the Dane County Advocates for Battered Women, now Domestic Abuse Intervention Services. While working as an attorney for Dane County, Leslie served as vice-chair of the Dane County Affirmative Action Commission. Later in her career, as both an attorney and an activist, Leslie volunteered hundreds of hours fighting for the rights of animals and she was honored when asked to speak at the annual Animal Law Conference at Harvard Law School. Leslie retired from the law in 2014 so she could spend more time listening to the wind blow through the trees with her grandsons, going on long walks with her fur-child, Albert, and traveling with the love of her life and best friend forever, Wayne Block. Leslie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wayne Block; her beloved daughter Laura Anderton and her husband Garry; her cherished grandsons, Spencer and Sebastian; her nieces Carla Hamilton and Carmen Waldschmidt and her nephew, Anthony Hamilton. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Hamilton. At Leslie's request, there will be no memorial service.
