Liem Gia Phung

Sun Prairie-Liem Gia Phung, age 86, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at St Mary's. He was born on February 24, 1923 in Viet Nam. While living in Viet Nam, Liem taught school for many years. He moved to the United States in 1979 and settled in Madison where he was the bookkeeper at the family owned Cathay House Restaurant for 17 years. Survivors include his son, Dao (Thien) Phung; three daughters, Hua (Rong) Xiao, My (Peter) Li, and Susan (Yee) Luong; nine grandchildren, Chi (Jerin) Zander,Lynda, Phillip, Fei, Diana, Allison, Stephani, Vanessa and Eric; and great-grandson Ryan. A visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
