Lillian Jensen

July 22, 1917 — November 8, 2011

Lillian Fern Emilie Jensen, 94, died November 8, 2011. She was born July 22, 1917, in Omaha, NE to Ferdinand Andersen and Emilie Haagensen, migrs from Denmark. She grew up in a Danish-American community in Omaha with one brother and three sisters and graduated from high school in 1935. She was married for 65 years to Robert (Bob) J. Jensen, who she met at church choir practice. While they lived in several states, they considered Oklahoma City their primary home. They greatly enjoyed their Danish heritage and visiting Denmark. Lillian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother and friend, a talented ceramicist who enjoyed art, and a gardener who could work magic with plants. In 2005 she moved to Capitol Lakes Retirement Community in Madison and enjoyed downtown living, making new friends, and Madison's progressive political environment. Her husband, Robert, and sons, Robert Jr. and Ronald Jensen, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Carol Pollis (Nick), Madison, daughter-in-law Darlene Jensen, Oklahoma City, grandchildren Aron Pollis, Kirsten Pollis, Colleen Jennings, Christa Stremble and Bryan Jensen, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. If she could, she would end this by saying: Tak For Alt ("Thanks for Everything" in Danish). She will be greatly missed.
