Linda L. Burich, age 64, passed from this life on Monday, January 30, 2012, at Meriter Hospital after a 17 month courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Linda was born on April, 3, 1947, in Eau Claire, WI, and was the daughter of William and Stella (Moss) Edington. She was married to Joseph Burich on November 5, 1966 in Madison, Wisconsin. Linda graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1965 and from The University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1969 with a degree in Physical Therapy. She was employed at Meriter Health Services as a physical therapist since 1991.
Linda's greatest loves in this life besides her family were her work treating patients and her animals, especially her horses Fraiser and Sweetie. Linda was active as a dressage rider and leaves many friends in the horse community.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joe, her son, Andrew of Seattle, her mother, Stella and her brother, Mark, both of St. Helens, OR. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Bill.
Linda was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Sun Prairie where a memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held on March 10, 2012. Visitation in the church narthex will be from 9 to 11 AM, with a Memorial Mass at 11 AM followed by a luncheon at the church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rose and all the staff at the UW Carbone Cancer Center who helped Linda in her fight with cancer. They would also like to thank Fr. Connors, Paula Horn and the many family and friends that provided support to Linda during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Linda's life may be sent to UW Carbone Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave. Attn: Katie Arendt K4/646, Madison, WI 53792-6164. Funds received will be used to support ovarian cancer research.
