She was born on March 17, 1957 in Lake Delton to John and Genevieve (Squires) Shanks. Linda spent her early years working with her family running a successful restaurant in Lake Delton along Highway 12. After one year at North Dakota State, Linda transferred to the University of Wisconsin -- Madison, receiving an Interior Design degree in 1980. Hospital for 13 years and followed that with jobs as an interior designer for Bray Associates Architects Inc. in Madison. There she designed the interiors of several municipal, medical and school buildings. Most recently, Linda worked at Architectural Design Consultants Inc. in her childhood home town of Lake Delton. There she did the interior design of vacation condominiums, hotels, restaurants and water parks. An accomplished professional, Linda had passed her National Council of Interior Design Qualifications exam and obtained her American Society of Interior Designers Professional Status. Above all of these experiences, she was an extremely caring, loving, understanding and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend.
