Madison - Lloyd Allen Hendrickson passed away unexpectedly February 23, 2011. He was born August 20, 1931 in Blanchardville, Wisconsin to Bessie Peterson Hendrickson and Lloyd Almon Hendrickson. Lloyd was a devoted member of the community contributing to a variety of organizations. He was a lifetime member of the Masons and the Zor Shrine Camel Patrol. He was also a member of the Mendota Club, UW Alumni, an Elk's Club member and was a Badger Basketball Booster for many years. He was a lifetime supporter of his beloved Badgers. Â He was a big Packer fan and enjoyed golfing. Â Lloyd lived in Blanchardville before moving to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1954 until 1961. His first Madison job after his discharge was as a teller for the Bank of Madison. Â But, he found his real niche as salesman with Wausau Insurance Co. and worked there for 32 years, making innumerable contacts and lasting friendships all around the Madison area. Â Lloyd married Peggy Befus Smith on March 13, 1976. Â Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Phillip Hendrickson; and his nephew David Dobbs. Lloyd is survived by his wife Peggy, his sister Carol Hendrickson Dobbs, his children, Lance Hendrickson (Clelia), Monica Smith Gue (Fred), Derek Smith (Martha); his grandchildren, Anthony Hendrickson, Tia Smith, Destiny Smith; his great grandchildren, Amareas Smith and Kaleb Hendrickson; and his nephews Mike Dobbs, Tom Dobbs (Twylla), John Dobbs (Jill), Rick Dobbs (Daina), Niece Lori Dobbs Milliren (Jared); and 18 great nieces and nephews and Smith extended family, Kim Nachtigal (Karl), Lindsey Layton, Zachary Thomson, Sophia Nondorf, Melissa Nachtigal. Â Lloyd will be dearly missed by his family and many, many friends. Services will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where Lloyd was a longtime member. Â Services will be held Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Road, Madison, WI, 53705. Â Rev. Tim Nybroten will be presiding. Â A visitation will be held prior to service beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials in Lloyd's name may be gifted to UW Foundation -- UW Marching Band, P.O.
