STOUGHTON, WI -- ROCKFORD- Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Lois I. Falconer, age 89, formerly of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in Stoughton, WI. Lois was born on Jan. 24, 1919 in Greenville TN. and was the first child of Roy and Geneva Carter. Â The family moved to Illinois where she graduated from Honenegah High School and worked many years at the Barber-Coleman Co. Â She married Doral Falconer in 1944. Â They began a business, West State Hardware, and both worked there for many years. Â They had one daughter, Polly (David) Goepfert. Â Lois was very active in the West End Businessman's Assoc. and was the recipient of the first Woman of the Year' award. Â Family and friends were very important to Lois. Â She was a member of Court St. Methodist Church where she was very active in their Church Bazaar, Quilting Group and the Turkey Dinner. Â Her Pot Luck' Group consisted of nine couples that raised their children together, supported each other during difficult times and celebrated life together; a strong bond of friendship over decades of life. Â Lois thoroughly enjoyed her four grandchildren, Gabriel (Jamie) of Madison, NE, Abraham (Kristi) of Fayetteville, NC, Jacob ( Victoria) of Enterprise, AL, and Grace of Stoughton, WI. Â She has two great-grandchildren, Paityn and Alex (NE). Â Â She was a wonderful Grandma, always making her table welcoming for the little ones'. Â Â She is survived by her husband Doral, daughter Polly, and brother Bill Carter. Â Her parents and sister, Doris Naber proceeded her in death. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court St, Rockford, Il. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am until time of services. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W. State St, Rockford, Il. Lois had a gift of hospitality.
