Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Leona, and husband John.

She graduated from Port Washington High School and received a B.S. in Social Working from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

After graduation she worked at the Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin as an adoption social worker.

She met her husband at the Der Rathskeller at the Memorial Union and were married for 51 years until her husband’s death.

While raising a young family, she worked briefly for Hall and Griffith as a legal secretary and for the Bank of Madison. She retired in 1996 after working 25 years as the Social Worker/Admission Director of the Sunny Hill Health Care Center.

She enjoyed travelling with her family by camping across the States and Canada. There were countless weekend camping trips in Wisconsin. Her most memorable trips were to Canadian Rockies, Colorado, Black Hills, Mississippi, Alabama, Great Smokey Mountains, Virginia and North Carolina. She especially liked trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, including the Porcupine Mountains and Copper Harbor. Her family made frequent trips to Door County to see her retired parents, aunt and uncle.

Every fall she loved to can pickles, tomatoes and pizza sauce. There always was a family dog and she enjoyed watching birds at her numerous bird feeders and baths, especially goldfinches.

Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
