Lois Nestingen

January 6, 1927 — December 26, 2020

Lois I.  Nestingen passed away to be reunited with her husband, Lyle, on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at age 93. She was born in Prairie Farm, WI on January 6, 1927 to the late Rev. Edward and Jennie Zellmer. Lois and Lyle were united in marriage on May 24, 1952 in Sparta, WI. Together they lovingly raised three children, Linda, Lee and Lynn.

The daughter of a minister, Lois spent her childhood across various Wisconsin communities. She graduated from Baraboo High School.  Lois worked on the capital square in Madison as a commercial accounts bank teller.

Lois was truly a caring and loving person.  Devoted to her husband and to her children.  Cooking, baking cookies-donuts, attending church, doing needle work, reading, traveling, collecting strawberry items, playing bridge, attending the Madison Elks chapter 410 and ballroom dancing were only a few of her happy interests.

Lois is survived by her children, Linda (Russell), Lee (Jane), and Lynn (Darin); grandchildren, Rhonda (James), and Rachel (Nolan); great-grandchildren, Kelly, Matthew and Isabelle.  She is further survived by special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Esther (Bill) Comings and brother, Edgar (Opal) Zellmer.

Special appreciation for the amazing staff of Ridgestone Gardens and for the loving care provided by them and most certainly by Emily Krueger.

As a family, we are beyond grateful for our time with such wonderful parents.  We release grief and sadness knowing Mom and Dad’s “love of a lifetime union” is now with God ... both smiling and embracing one another.  As one of Mom and Dad’s dear nieces shared, “Your mother is with your dad.  Hallelujah.  God bless her. All of you can take comfort in the joy you gave her.  Smile knowing that your Dad has his dancing partner again!  Cue the music!”

Private Services were held for Lois at Sunset Memory Gardens.   For donations in Lois’s memory, please consider the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org)  or The American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org.
