VERONA-Lois Jane Reimer, age 63, died peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2009, surrounded by her family and friends. Lois was born on January 29, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Seymour and Min Raznikov. Lois graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri -- St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1969. She was a dedicated teacher for over 20 years. Lois had a great passion for beautiful fabrics, especially batiks, and loved to create intricate quilts. One of her greatest joys was searching for sand dollars and the ever elusive giant shell on Marco Island. Lois also loved ballroom dancing and was a PADI certified scuba diver. She is survived by her loving companion, Phil Filz of Madison; her two children, Todd (Alicia) Reimer of Hartland and Kristi (Brian) Michalowski of Verona. She will be dearly missed by her four loving grandsons: Tyler and Nathan Reimer, and Matthew and Andrew Michalowski. She is further survived by her sister Amy (Warren) Weber of Bolinas, CA; her former husband Fred Reimer of Naples, FL; and her best friend Jean Findley of Madison. Lois will be greatly missed by her many friends including her knitting, quilting and coffee groups and her friends from Rebuilders. Family and friends are invited to gather and remember Lois at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in the Evjue Commons, 3330 Atwood Ave., Madison on Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Lois's family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at the UW Hospital and Clinics, and the Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center, especially the doctors and the staff in the Gynecologic Cancer Clinic. Memorial donations in Lois's name may be made to: the UW Paul P.
