Lois Schweiger

Madison - Lois Ann (Perso)Schweiger, age 77 of Madison, went home to her savior on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She was born on December 19, 1940 in LaCrosse, the daughter of Erwin and Elizabeth (Luckason) Perso.

On August 25, 1962, Lois married the love of her life Steven Louis Schweiger in LaCrosse. Over the years, Lois was a registered nurse and worked at various facilities during her career. After retirement she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at St. Peter Catholic Church, the Catholic Woman's Society, Attic Angels and mostly known for her volunteer efforts with St. Mary's Hospital, where she was honored for 10,000 hours of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, golfing and most of all she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Lois will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three children; Lisa (John) Schoenfeld, Mike (Kim) Schweiger and Bill (Lynn) Schweiger, ten grandchildren; Erin (Sean) Naatz, Andrew (Heather) Schoenfeld, Thomas Schoenfeld, Michael (Sarah) Schoenfeld, Joshua Schoenfeld, Jacob Schweiger, Alec Schweiger, Eli Schweiger, Alyssa Schweiger and Benjamin Schweiger and one great grandson; Avery Naatz.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Steven Louis Schweiger and two sisters; Gretchen Erlandson and Betty Bell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 am with Monsignor Charles Schluter presiding. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. Chapel services will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Lois to SSM Health St. Mary's Foundation, Attn: Nursing Scholarship, 700 South Park Street, Madison, WI 53715.
