MADISON— Lorraine H. Blank, age 90, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021. She was born in Columbus, WI on November 18, 1930 to Walter and Hildegard (Kusrow) Boese.
Lorraine attended Zion Lutheran Grade School in Columbus and graduate from Columbus High School. In 1949-50, she attended Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee. She was secretary to Louis Gardner, Sr. and Jr., and she worked in the office of Gardner Baking Co. until 1959.
Lorraine was a stay-at-home mom, raising their son and daughter. In 1979, Lorraine went back to work for the State of Wisconsin in the Hotel and Restaurant Section. Lorraine enjoyed travelling, quilting, crocheting, knitting, working on her genealogy, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Lorraine is survived by her children David (Katherine) and Ruth (Dan) Rinehart; and grandchildren Margaret “Carly” Blank, Matthew Blank, Christine Rinehart, Jessica Rinehart, and Sophia Hanson-Rinehart. Preceded in death by her husband Darrell Blank, parents Walter and Hildegard Boese, brother Roger Boese, and sister Shirley Foster.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 734 Holy Cross Way, Madison, WI 53704. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Burial at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove will immediately follow services at church.
