Lorraine T. Craig, age 82 of Madison, died on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at HospiceCare.
She was born in Milwaukee on May 27, 1929, the daughter of Raymond and Arthye (Krueger) Toepfer. A graduate of Wauwatosa (East) High School and of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Home Economics and Nursing, she had a career as a registered nurse. She enjoyed reunions with high school and nursing classmates.
Lori shared her love of the outdoors and traveling with many cherished friends, including SAS (Sports for Active Seniors) in the Madison area. She enjoyed camping, kayaking and bicycling. She spent many happy hours gardening and in artistic pursuits. She loved to watch her grandsons play hockey.
She was a very generous and caring mother to her children and grandchildren and a close friend to John and Flora Berbee.
Survivors include: her son, Kevin (Terry) Craig of Wexford, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Phyllis (Glen) Meister of Madison; five grandchildren, David, Christine, Dan, Brian Meister and Elizabeth Craig; nieces and nephews; sister Joanne Linnan of Delafield, and many other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Phyllis Brothwell (identical twin) and Suzanne Bethards.
Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Madison with Pastor Deborah Lind-Schmitz presiding. Visitation will be on Monday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
