Lorraine Crozier

January 6, 1932 — July 2, 2021

Lorraine Evelyn Mae Crozier, age 89, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at her home in Sun Prairie, WI. She was born on January 6, 1932 in Grover, WI to Carl and AlFreda (Sterzing) Schroeder.

Lorraine received her diploma from Peshtigo High School in 1949 but was unable to make the graduation because she had the measles.  In 1951, she graduated from Wisconsin State Teacher’s College.  She taught grades 1-8 at Forest View School in Grover.

Lorraine married Elroy Crozier of Oconto, WI on July 12, 1952.  They moved to Sturgeon Bay where she taught grades 4-8.  Together, they then moved back to Oconto where she taught grades 1-8 in Oconto.  Lorraine gave up her love of teaching for a greater love of her six children.

While raising her children in Pound, WI, she was also a 4-H leader, taught Sunday School, and was in the church choir.  Lorraine stayed a homemaker until her youngest child was in school.  She then worked at American Dry Cleaners in Butler, WI for a few years. After this, Lorraine then worked at K-Mart in the men’s department in Wauwatosa, WI.  There she was promoted to personnel manager at the K-Mart in Rhinelander, WI.

After her husband retired, Lorraine and Elroy moved to Arkansas where she worked in accounting.  Upon Lorraine’s retirement, they moved to Bella Vista, AK and later to Table Rock Lake in Missouri.  They then moved to Sun Prairie, WI where Elroy, the love of her life, passed away.

Lorraine continued to live in Sun Prairie with her daughter and with her cat for the rest of her life.  Lorraine’s hobbies included reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Lorraine leaves behind her six caring and loving children Sally (James) Hadler of Goodhue, MN, Nancy (Timothy) Samuelson of Sun Prairie, WI, Charles (Cherye) Crozier of North Port, FL, Susan Heather of Waupaca, WI, Ruth (Robert) Moreton of Bella Vista, AR, and Robert (Lisa) Crozier of Denmark, WI; her 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her cat.  She is further survived by her sister Arleen Rocheleau of Coleman, WI.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Elroy, her parents Carl and AlFreda Schroeder  of Grover, her in-laws Roy and Meta (Ziemer) Crozier of Oconto, grandparents Edward and Lena Sterzing of Porterfield and August and Fredrica Schroeder of Grover; siblings Vernon (Peggy) Schroeder of Peshtigo, Carl (Louise) Schroeder of Grover, and Jean (Martin) Vieth of Marinette.
