Lorraine R Drury

June 22, 1932 — September 13, 2009

Lorraine R. Drury, age 77, passed away peacefully at UW Hospital, Sunday, September 13, 2009 following   a brave, valiant battle with cancer.   She was born June 22, 1932, the daughter of Earl and Allene (Anderson) Ray, in Richland Center.   She was united in marriage to the late Rollen D. Brown on July 7, 1950.   Together they had three daughters.   Lorraine was later   united in marriage to Douglas J. Drury on August 23, 1958.   Douglas passed away on January 21, 2004.   Lorraine was employed as a shipping clerk for over 25 years at Honeywell, until her retirement in 1995.   She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and a very loving friend to many.   Lorraine had a radiant smile, and an infectious laugh that touched many people.   Everyone that had the honor of knowing her was embraced with love.   She was known by her family and friends by her constant smile and quick wit.   Lorraine had a true love for nature and life, and she found enjoyment and things to be thankful for each and every day.   She is survived by one son, and six daughters;   Michael (Stephanie) Drury, Kimberley  Boughner, Janet (Brian Butler) Burditt, Nan (Jimi Schutte) Perry, Jacki (John) Hershberger, Julie (Mike Saxer) Drury,   Mary (Kevin) Blackmore, daughter-in-law, Maria Paulus, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister Bette Wilson, brother Carl Ray, and many loving nieces and nephews.   Lorraine was preceded in death by her husbands; Rollen and Douglas and a  sister,  Dorothy (Lyle) Flint.   A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Rd., Madison, WI, followed by a Celebration of Life honoring Lorraine at 11:30.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy., Madison, WI   53711, or the UW Carbone Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave., Madison, WI   53792.   The family would like to thank HospiceCare nurse Jenny, Dr. Jarjour, and the staff of UW Hospital for their loving and compassionate care.
