Stoughton- Lorraine I. Ingersoll, age 78, died on Friday, July 16, 2010, from the effects of Alzheimer's disease.  She was born in Thief River Falls, MN on January 28, 1932, to Robert and Nilda Kezar.  Lorraine graduated from Hibbing High School in Minnesota and did secretarial work before marring Fred Ingersoll 57 years ago in Minneapolis.  Lorraine was an accomplished homemaker.  She nourished, taught and guided six children and her husband.  Lorraine loved nature and the outdoors, canoeing and working in the BWCA.  She was artistic and loved music and dancing; tap dancing well into her 60's and ready to dance a polka whenever able.  Lorraine was compassionate and caring.  The elderly in nursing homes were special to her.  Wherever she lived she found volunteer opportunities and was selected the 1978 volunteer of the year by the Minnesota Association of Health Care Facilities.  Lorraine showed her Christian Faith in many caring ways, befriending prisoners, alcoholics, the poor, the aged and welcoming five Vietnamese refugees into our home.  For the past 18 years she has dealt with Alzheimer's disease and in a reversal of roles was the one lovingly cared for by family, friends and the aids and nurses in the Friendship Circle at Skaalen Nursing Home.  Lorraine leaves behind her husband, Fred of Stoughton; six children, Brad (Lorenda) of Duluth, Dan (Sherry) of Eau Claire, John (Sherri) of North Carolina, Karl (Kathy) of Arizona, Tim (Jan) of Superior and Deanna (Dat) Ly of China/Oregon State; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Kezar of Yuma, AZ.  Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and a sister-in-law.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E.
