Lorraine O'Connell

Stoughton- Lorraine M. "Oddie" O'Connell, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Nazareth House. She was born on May 5, 1924, the daughter of Otis and Alma (Anderson) Odland. Oddie graduated from Stoughton High School and from Madison General Hospital in 1946 as a nurse cadet. In 1947 she was united in marriage to Thomas Sullivan O'Connell. Oddie was a registered nurse in WI, MI, NY and Indiana. She had an extraordinary talent and enthusiasm for knitting and shared her creations with friends and family over the years. Oddie was an avid golfer for over 30 years. She is survived by her children, Peggy (Dick) Reynolds and Thomas O'Connell Jr.; two grandchildren, Christopher Noah (Katie) Reynolds and April (Zach) Reynolds-Bent; great grandson, Connor Noah Reynolds; and brother, Rollin (Rita) Odland of Stoughton. Oddie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas, in 1995; two infant children; brother, Rev. Otis Odland; and sister, Ann Dornbusch. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services Friday. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery South. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation.
