Lou Wendt

Lou Margaret (Bunes) Wendt passed away and joined her beloved husband John on August 11, 2011. Lou was born March 18, 1927 and grew up in Cornell, Wisconsin. She met her future husband John Wendt (6/27-10/96) in 1944 and they married in 1950. John attended college in Madison, WI and was a Pharmacist for Eli Lilly. They settled in Menomonee Falls, WI. Together they raised two children Gary and Joan. Lou was a homemaker and was a very active volunteer for The Ranch in Menomonee Falls, an organization for assisting developmentally disabled adults, as well as volunteering for many other organizations. Lou and John travelled extensively after John's retirement. After John's death in 1996 Lou continued her travelling adventures with her son and family and with her daughter. Lou moved to Madison to be with her children and grandchildren in 2006. She lived with her daughter Joan Wendt and Joan's partner Ann Valder, as well as Lou's beloved 22 pound Maine Coon kitty Deja.
Lou is survived by her sister, children and grandchildren, her son Gary and his wife Julie Wendt and their children, Lou's beloved grandchildren, Lisa and Daniel of Middleton, WI; her daughter Joan Wendt and partner Ann Valder of Madison, WI; and her sister Harriet Wedemayer of Brookfield, WI.
Lou was a really upbeat and happy lady that was loved by so many. She will be greatly missed.
Lou will be interred by her husband at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
