Louann Kelly

July 13, 1959 — February 22, 2016

Sun Prairie- SUN PRAIRIE - Louann Kelly, age 56, of Sun Prairie, Wis., passed on to be with her True Love, Jesus, on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016. She passed due to complications brought on by the thief called Alzheimer's.
Louann was born in Madison on July 13, 1959, to Jean and Lester Kelly. She was raised on the Kelly Family Farm in Sun Prairie where she learned great work ethic from her parents and brother, Alan, who she adored. She was a beautiful farm girl whose inner love was the fun and education of children. Louann's younger years were filled with fun and travel, but she always came home to Sun Prairie and the farm. Her two best friends since grade school were Tammy W. Moody and Laurie Harris.
She received her Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) from MATC. She worked for Calvary Gospel Church Daycare and Dane County Head Start for seven years where her superiors/friends pushed her to pursue more childhood education which she did at Madison College.
Louann met her husband, Peter, in May of 1995 and married only six months later. They were married for 20 years.
Louann loved animals, travel, camping, hiking, fishing, morel mushroom hunting, friends, family, her two sons, and her daughter in Oklahoma whom she had a mother's love for and adored. She took special enjoyment playing with her nieces and nephews or anyone's kids, for her true love was teaching children. Lou loved music, whether going to see it live at Summerfest or spreading a blanket on the Capitol lawn for Concert on the Square. Her love of music, dance, and travel came from her parents.
The absolute delight of everyone who knew Lou, was her infections smile and up-beat attitude. But the delight of Louann was her two boys, Peter and Leon. She was the happiest when playing with her boys at Devil's Lake or watching them play little league.
Louann is survived by her husband, Peter; sons, Peter and Leon; daughter, Michell of Oklahoma; brother, Alan Kelly; nieces and nephews too many to list, but you know who you are. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Jean Kelly; brother, Jim; and sister, Linda.
Louann gave her husband strict instructions that we all should celebrate all the laughs and good times together and for her husband and two boys to go and enjoy life.
A celebration of Lou's life will be held on Thursday March 3, 2016, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Calvary Gospel Church, 5301 Commercial Ave, Madison, WI 53704.
