Louann Wersland

Stoughton- Louann E. Wersland, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Stoughton Hospital.  She was born in Madison on May 28, 1951, the daughter of Carl and Celia Olson.  Lou graduated from Aerial Beauty School in Madison.  On July 27, 1986 she married Dennis Wersland in his parents backyard.  Together they enjoyed camping, traveling the U.S., gardening and canning, and playing cards.  Lou enjoyed many years of helping seniors at the Stoughton Senior Center until her retirement in 1996.  She was a prize winning quilter.  Lou is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dennis; a special niece, Mary Kruschek; and family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Betty Lou Aaroen, Beverly Ann Aaroen, and Barbara Elaine Dutcher; and brother, Dennis Olson.  A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect Street, Stoughton.  A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Skaalen Clubhouse, 400 N. Morris Street, Stoughton.  Please bring a dish to pass.  Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or Dane County Humane Society.  Please share your memories of Lou by posting on her Tribute Wall.
