Louanne ""Lucy"" Roberts

MADISON-Louanne ""Lucy"" Roberts, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 7, 2010.  She was born in Madison, WI on November 14, 1933 to Vincent Beckley and Frances Lou Roberts.  She attended West High School, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian from the UW-Madison in 1955.  She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.  Lucy worked for the State of Wisconsin for 21 years until her retirement in 2000.  An avid animal lover, she was a member of several animal welfare organizations. Lucy is survived by her six children, Sally (Brian) Huegel, Tom (Gina) Kelliher, Mary Kelliher, Nancy Kelliher, Susan (Keith) Kinion, and Bob (Teri) Kelliher; her four grandchildren, Allison (Mary), Grant & Ryan (Bob) and Erin (Tom); a niece and five nephews. She leaves behind her beloved dog Vinnie and her bird Beauty. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Richard F. Roberts and Vincent B. Roberts Jr. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010  from 4-6:00 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lucy's name to the Dane County Humane Society. Lucy was a loving and caring mother, nana and aunt, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
