Maier, Louise (Kalscheur)

Waunakee/Cross Plains – Louise Maier, age 85, died on Saturday, June 29th. She was born December 8, 1938 in Cross Plains, the daughter of Leo (Buddy) and Margaret (Esser) Kalscheur. Louise married Edwin Maier on May 5, 1959 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains.

She was employed by the Wisconsin Dept. of Public Instruction, Division for Handicapped Children and later by the State Bank of Cross Plains until her retirement.

Louise is survived by her husband, Edwin, a daughter-in-law Alissa Maier-Kleinfeldt of Windsor and her granddaughters, Alexandra Maier (Ben Wright) of Brookfield, WI and Katrina Maier of Monona, WI and two great grandchildren, her sisters, Jean (Frank) Pelehach of Sandusky Ohio and Marge (Bill) Stern of Madison; her brothers Don (Toni) Kalscheur of Sun Lakes, AZ and Tim (Denise) Kalscheur of Madison and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons Gary and Terry, her parents, a brother Bill Kalscheur (Marge) and an infant sister, Anita, and brother-in-law Frank Pelehach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St Waunakee on Tues. July 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Joseph Baker officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cross Plains at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
