MIDDLETON
Louise Joanne Novotny passed away on July 23, 2024, at the age of 89. She was the daughter of Joseph and Johanna Eenigenburg and the youngest of nine siblings. Growing up in Chicago, Louise married Donald W. Novotny in 1954, when they were both 19 years old. Shortly after, they moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where Donald pursued a career as an engineering professor at the University of Wisconsin.
Louise lived a life full of love for family and friends, and she had a deep compassion for others. In addition to raising their two daughters, she dedicated many hours to volunteering at UW-Hospital in Madison, Hospice Care, and Easter Seals. She also served as the editor of several newsletters and coordinated conferences for non-profit organizations.
Her love for her family knew no bounds. After 68 years of marriage, she lost her husband in 2022. Louise is survived by her daughters Donna (former husband Bruce) Kopp and Cindy (Mark) Mason; her four grandchildren Noah (Sherry), Benjamin (Lisa), John (Emily), and Diana; and her five great-grandchildren Levi, Havana, Peter, James, and Cecilia.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the employees of Attic Angel Community Haven in Middleton for their compassionate care, and to Agrace Hospice for their valuable support. The family is forever grateful. A private family graveside service will be held.
