MADISON - Louise Palmer, age 91 passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 10, 1923 to Louis and Matilda (Becker) Seipp.
In 1945 she married her loving husband, Charles Palmer. They moved to San Francisco in 1946 where they started their family, begetting and raising four children: Anthony, Carol Ann, Charles and Louis. In 1955 they moved to South Florida where Louise spent 23 years teaching. She was active in the American Assoc. of University Women (AAUW), South Florida Chapter, where she served as past president. The Palmers were very active in their Amway groups, traveling to conventions and socializing with these friends. Travels included Europe, China and Panama. Louise enjoyed knitting, reading, theater, traveling to be with family, especially with her four grandchildren. She loved music and going to concerts, most recently, the Oakwood Players.
Louise is survived by three children: Anthony Palmer (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA, Charles Palmer (Denise) of Pineville, NC, and Carol Swain (Will) of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Audrey Desnoyers (Brett) and Aaron Swain (Michelle) both of Seattle, Washington, Moment and Stone Palmer and (3) great-grandsons. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Louis, and sister, Miriam.
A memorial service celebrating Louise's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 in Resurrection Chapel Oakwood Village, 6201 Mineral Point Rd in Madison with Rev. Martha Nack officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service. A reception will follow.
