Lucille Klipp

Lucille J. Klipp, age 90, died peacefully at her home November 28, 2011 in Madison, WI. Lucille was born in Chimney Rock, WI on June 24, 1921. Growing up through the depression helped frame her values and helped develop her character and integrity. She graduated High School in 1939, joined the war effort, married Wilbert Klipp in 1945 and started their life together in Madison. Her happiest years were taking care of her family. She had a strong commitment to helping others and to her faith. She is survived by her six children; Durwood of Madison, WI, Harlan (Sharon) of Pasadena, CA, Gary (Marilu) of Appleton, WI, Sonia (Harold) Powell of Cayman Islands, Barbara of Richland Center, WI, and Brian (Nancy) of Roswell, GA; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; sister Ruby Liedtke, brothers Wesley (Barb) Thompson and Gilman Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert, parents Lewis and Selma (nee Erickson) Thompson, siblings Joan Mode and Lowell Thompson. She will be deeply missed by her family but the following sentiment will help us through this difficult time. "A limb has fallen from our family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you, keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest, remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small, go on with your life, don't just stare at the wall. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin, until the day comes we're together again." Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00am-1:00 pm. A committal service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park following the services. Memorials can be made to the Salvation Army, 3030 Darbo Drive, Madison, WI 53714.
