Lucrezia “Lucy” Faith Cotton, age 77, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024. Lucy was born on November 27, 1946 in Chicago, IL to John and Myrtle (Garson) Cotton.
Lucy dedicated her life to the healthcare field, and she spent many years as a nurse’s aide. When she wasn’t working, Lucy loved motorcycle riding, finding a good buy at an auction or a flea market, enjoying a nice fish fry with friends and family, going boating in the warm weather, and taking care of her animals. Lucy took great care of all her animals, and she paid special attention to the care of her horses. She rode them whenever she was able.
Lucy is survived by her children: Tinamarie Michelkamp, Kenneth Plasky, Coleen Engeriser, Rachel Deering, and Jason Plasky; grandchildren: Billy, Keith, James, Joel, Joshua, Marek, Izak, Melissa, Tiffany, and Brittney; great-grandchildren: Aveyaunna, Parnell Junior, Persephani, Promyse, Hazeon, Taasan, and Gio; and many other relatives and friends. Lucy was preceded in death by her son Keith.
Melissa and Lucy always loved to exchange a good joke with another. The last one she was able to share with Lucy was:
“What’s a ghost’s favorite muffin? Answer: Boo-Berry.”
Thank you to Oak Ridge for providing care and so much care to Lucy over these years, especially Lisa AKA Boss Lady as Lucy called her.
Private services will be held.
