Lynn Packard

Oregon- Lynn J. Packard, age 89, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Madison. He was born in Great Falls, Montana on April 2, 1922, the son of Lynn and Julia (Solheim) Packard. He married Dorothy Wolter in Buffalo, NY on September 9, 1942. Lynn served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Lynn is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy; four sons, Larry (Ellen), Gary (Mardy), Tom and Robert (Diane); 10 grandchildren, Tom, Wade (Kim), Julie (John), Edward (Amy), Chad (Kathy), Nicole (Tim), Emily (Dustin), Ben, Victoria and Samantha; 13 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Wesley and Donald. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Bill Lehman officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services, in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wm. S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital, c/o Community Relations Service. A special thank you to the staff of the VA Hospital in Madison for their care and comfort.
