Mabel Dodge

DEERFIELD--Mabel Gladys Dodge, age 77 passed away at her home surrounded by family on Friday, February 22, 2013. Mabel was born on the family farm in Wazeka, Crawford County, WI on December 30, 1935, the daughter of the late Eldon and Nellie (Ward) Wayne.

Mabel is survived by three wonderful sons, Eldon (Laurie) Dodge of Cambridge, Phil (Nancy) Dodge and Bernie (Robyn) Dodge both of Marshall; stepchildren, Bill Dodge, David (Gail) Dodge, and Kathy (Scott) Schoenick; wonderful grandchildren, Travis (Stacey) Dodge, Jenny (Rich) van Doorn, Cortnie Dodge and Callie Dodge; step-grandchildren, Owen, Joy, Erin, Matt, Carissa, Maddie, and Caitlynn; great-grandchild, Blake; brothers and sisters, Loretta Shulka, Marlene (Stan) Wetter, Larry (Maxine) Wayne; sister-in-law, Eileen Wayne; special friend, Karen Harbort. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews from three different generations; and the "many children" of Deerfield to whom she will always be "Grandma Mabel."

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David (2003); siblings, Bernard, Alfred, Elizabeth, Esther, Elmyra, Geneva, and Earl.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Deerfield Lutheran Church, 206 S. Main Street, Deerfield with the Reverend Larry Sexe officiating. A visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 201 Bue Street, Deerfield, on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Monday at church one hour prior to service. Lunch will be served at church after service followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens, Cottage Grove.
