Schaller, Mabel
Stoughton- Mabel M. Schaller, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Stoughton Hospital.
She was born on the family farm in Pleasant Springs Township on January 8, 1926, a daughter of John and Kaia (Johnson) Midthun. Mabel was married to Elver Lund, who preceded her in death in 1957. In 1971, she married Joseph Schaller, who preceded her in death in 2008. Joe and Mabel retired to the Adams Friendship area for a time and spent many winters in Arizona. She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Brewers, playing the button box, shopping trips, road trips and always being on the go. She loved bird watching and making people laugh. She adored her family, and her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by 3 children, Karen Phillips of Stoughton, Kenneth (Debbie) Lund of Deerfield, and Carleen (Leonard) Lassa of Wisconsin Rapids; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Caroline Ustad of Stoughton. She was preceded in death by her husband Elver Lund; her husband, Joseph Schaller; her parents; and 6 siblings, Ted, Harman, Oscar, Josie, Christy and Sally.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 1911 Koshkonong Road, Stoughton with the Rev. Richard Dowling officiating. Burial will follow at West Koshkonong Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, August 19th from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton and again at church on Saturday from 2:30pm until the time of service. Special Thanks to the staff at Harbor House, the staff at Stoughton Hospital, and especially to Dr. Brehm.
