Mabel T. Tveit

Waunakee -- Mabel T. Tveit, age 91, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, February 5, 2010, at Waunakee Manor in Waunakee. She was born on July 26, 1918 in Arena, Wisconsin to Henry and Hannah (Wilkinson) Helgeson. Mabel was united in marriage to Johnnie Tveit on January 21, 1938. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, sewing, spending time at the cabin and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Judith (James) Burno, Verna (James) Lapp, John (Mary) Tveit, Dawn ( Joel) Vanko and Debra Ziegler; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnnie, a son-in-law, Dean Ziegler, a great granddaughter, Shawna and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at NORWAY GROVE MEMORIAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 820 River Road, DeForest, on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kathryn Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow at Norway Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held at WINN-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 5785 Hwy Q., Waunakee, on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at church on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or to the family.
