Jens, Madeline Laurane
Madison: Madeline Laurane Jens, beloved daughter to Patricia Jens and Richard Spivey, passed away late in the evening of August 5th, 2021 at 29 years of age. Madeline was born and raised (attached at the hip to her brother Charlie) in Madison, Wisconsin, and most recently resided on the west side of Madison.
She held a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Point Park University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Madeline was loved by her college and work friends throughout the 29 years of her life. Madeline loved taking Samwise, her dog, for long walks, watching shows with her brother, sharing special moments with her sister Molly, and enjoying times with her close friends Mary, Nicole, Alana, and Tami. Madeline was grateful to have found a job working with Amy at Bell Laboratories.
Madeline was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William A. and Laurane Jens; her paternal grandparents, Melvin and Mardell Spivey; her uncle William W. Jens; and her cousin Jeffrey Martin. Madeline is survived by her sister Molly Spivey; beloved brother, Charles Spivey; her mother, Patricia Jens (Lee Elver); father, Richard Spivey; sister Fern (Eric); niece, Violet; and nephew, Lincoln as well as various extended family members. Madeline also is also survived by her soulmate of a dog (Samwise) and her special cat, Sadie.
Madeline’s family would like to especially thank the owners and Madeline’s co-workers at Sweeney’s Oakcrest Tavern, with tender loving thoughts sent out to Matt, Chip, Tami, and Joe. We cherish their ongoing support. Madeline loved spending time with her Oakcrest family. They said she lit up the place whenever she was there
In lieu of a service, a gathering will be held at a later date for family and friends in celebration of Madeline’s amazing life on this earth. Madeline was a rare individual who touched all of those who were lucky enough to have come in contact with her.
In lieu of flowers or donations Madeline would be smiling down to know you went out and held close those who are dear to you. She would tell you the ride of life is amazing but just too damn short.
We won the lottery when she came into our lives. She was our beloved Madeline Laurane. She will be missed and loved by us always.
