Amundson, Maellyn ""Lynne""
Lexington / Stoughton Lynne Amundson, age 85, formerly of Viroqua and Stoughton, died with grace on April 30, 2011, at her home in Lexington KY as she succumbed to multiple myeloma. She was comforted with the presence of family. Lynne was born to Martha (Erickson) and Lester Parish in Stoughton, WI on April 7, 1926. She married Arthur J. Amundson Jr. in 1945 and they were blessed with three children, Ron, Jeff, and Kari. Lynne and Art remained happily married until his death in 2007. Lynne's greatest joys have always been her Christian faith, her love for family, devotion to friends, and making a welcoming home. Lynne was a faithful Methodist and member of United Methodist Women, a member of the Sarah Circle and served on the Mission District Team. She was also a member of the Vernon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Busy Hour Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harry, two sisters Beulah (George) Watson and June (Herman) Cougill, a nephew Robert Cougill and a niece Kay Sickler.
She is survived by her children Ronald (Sherry) Amundson, Jeffrey (Jan) Amundson, Kari (Taylor) Collins; grandchildren Cyrus (Caitlyn) Amundson, Sarah (Travis) Collins-Roberts, Joshua Collins, Laura Collins; great-grandchildren Noah and Arthur Roberts; sister Ruth Paulson; nephews Bruce Watson and Kim Hanson, niece Barbara Paris, other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life service will be officiated by Reverend Clyde Cross on May 9 at 11:00 in the Olson, Holzhuter, and Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect, Stoughton, WI. Visitation is at 10:00. Interment will follow in the Stoughton Riverside Cemetery, followed by a lunch at the American Legion Hall.
Reverend Ethan Larson will conduct a memorial service at the United Methodist Church 221 S. Center St. Viroqua, WI. at 11:00, Tuesday, May 10. A lunch will follow in the church.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Viroqua or the International Myeloma Foundation.
