Malcolm Severson

Sun Prairie--Malcolm "Bud" Severson, age 96, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 in DeForest. He was born on July 11, 1915 in Blue Mounds, WI, the son of Ole and Rachel (Gilbert) Severson. On October 8, 1954, Bud was united in marriage with Ruth Hernan in Milwaukee. Bud lived in Milwaukee for 26 years before coming to Sun Prairie in September of 1980. He worked for the State of WI as an administrative assistant in the motor vehicle department retiring in 1975. Bud attended grade school in DeForest and was a DeForest High School graduate. During WWII, Bud served our country with the US Army. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Bud is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth and numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie with Rev. Julie Krahn officiating. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home's community room.
