Marcella Mae Raberding (Gamby), 91, passed away January 4, 2024.  She was born April 30, 1932 in Cherokee Township, Arkansas to Ray and Thelma Jenks.  After graduating from Harper High School (KS) she focused on her love of children by providing childcare services for numerous families in the Kansas City area.  She was united in marriage to Norman Raberding in Manhattan, Kansas on March 21, 1954.

Much of her life was spent providing loving and God centered care for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many foster children.  In her spare time she loved gardening, creating beautiful watercolor paintings, and studying scripture. 

Marcella spent her retirement years at the Coves Golf Course in Grand Lakes, OK, at her home in Cross Plains, and at their lakeside cottage on Razorback Lake in Sayner WI.  She was a member of Middleton Baptist Church in Middleton, member of the Cleora Baptist Church in Cleora, OK, and attended Blackhawk Church in Madison. 

Marcella is survived by her daughter Lynette (Rick) Karls; 4 granddaughters; Michelle Karls, Tania (Aaron) Luettinger, Angela (Zach) Wood, Jacquelyn (Brett) Mazzara, and 9 great-grandchilren, 5 brothers and sisters; Edward Jenks, Jesse Olivier, Danny (Mary) Jenks, Joyce Welton, and Karen DeShazo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman, her daughter Sandra, and two brothers; Don Jenks and Dwight Jenks. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service.
