Margaret Irene Anderson (Andreas) passed away at the age of 83 on November 20, 2008. Grandma Margaret was affectionately known as Dolly to her brothers and sisters, Maggie to her oldest friends and Mom to her four children. Mom loved all animals (except pigs and snakes), plants, and most people. She was an open minded, independent woman who was naturally curious, kind, and considerate of all living things. Margaret was born in the township of Montrose, on April 17, 1925. The eldest of eight children, she preferred farm work over house work. The family lived on the Gaffney -- Andreas farm located on Schaller road between Verona and Paoli. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Anderson (Joe F. Romero), brothers Jack, Jim, and Tony Andreas as well as a grandson who died in infancy and her grandson Casey Fero. Margaret's surviving family includes her sisters Cora Crawford, and Mary Pullara, and brothers Charles and Paul Andreas, and her dear friend, sister-in-law Irene Andreas (Anchorage, Alaska). Her brothers and sisters presented Aunt Margaret with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.  She is survived by her children Jeanne Romero--Severson, Patricia Fero, Jerry Romero and Kerry Neupert. Margaret often said that she was also blessed with three wonderful sons-in-law: Dave Severson, Bruce Fero and Dave Neupert as well as a very special daughter-in-law, Cheri Slater Romero. Margarets grandchildren (Mykol Fero, Ethan Romero-Severson, Brian Severson, Amber Romero, Morgan Romero, Logan Neupert and Taylor Neupert) intrigued her. She cared about them as individuals and she loved them unconditionally. Her great grandchildren Tessa Casey Fero, Mykala Severson, Sam Severson, Rowen Severson and baby Kolbie Severson were an additional source of joy.  A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 -- 4 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. A memorial service will start at 4:00 pm. A private burial is planned.  Margaret's last wishes were, quite characteristically, very clear:  ""After I pass away, in lieu of flowers that only wilt and then die, please make donations in my memory to the UW Brain Bank and/or to the Whittemore Peterson Institute for Neuroimmune Disorders - Tissue Repository in honor of my grandson Casey Fero.""  More information and donation forms will be available at Cress and are online at:  http://www.wcmp.wisc.edu/brainbank/charitable_donations.shtml  http://www.wpinstitute.org/research/research_biobank.html  As an alternative, a memorial for Margaret Anderson can be sent to Cress Funeral Home. Margaret's family will disperse donations to the UW Brain Bank and the Whittemore Peterson Tissue Repository.   The family would like to thank Kristin Bridgeman and her wonderful staff at the Highlands House Adult Family Care, Sun Prairie, for the love, comfort, and beauty they brought to Margaret's life in her time living there. In addition, her children will always remember the Hospice nurses including, but not limited to Jill, Sherry, Michelle and especially Kevin who remained with Margaret until her last peaceful breath.
